???Eco-Congregation

Queensferry Parish Church is a registered Eco-Congregation and gained its first award in 2009.

In January 2018 we gained the Eco-Congregation Bronze award and in June 2019 we were awarded the silver award.

The bronze award is an entry-level award, recognising that a congregation is doing the basics across the broad areas of spiritual living, practical giving and global living. There are some general aspects such as planning and communication as well as eleven criteria to be fulfilled. A congregation must show that it has achieved, or made substantial progress toward achieving these .

The criteria for the silver award cover the same 11 topics as the bronze award, but sets a more demanding standard, requiring active participation by members, care for creation reflected regularly in worship and involvement in local network events.

We will now be working towards the gold award, which recognises congregations which have developed a long-term commitment to promoting environmental issues as an integral part of their congregational and community life.
